Here at Studio 100 JBW, we believe people are the heart and soul of our business, which is why we wanted them to share a little bit about themselves…

MURRAY CAMERON –
Architectural Lighting Enthusiast

What’s your favourite meal and when was the last time you had it?

Hmm… that’s a tough one. I honestly enjoy many different styles of food, I would probably say a slow cooked lamb with roasted vegetables is one of my all-time favourites. I usually try to make it every couple of weeks.

If you could jump on a plane and go anywhere, where would you go and why?

After the last few years of no travel, I am honestly happy to go anywhere. I have been lucky enough to travel to many parts of the world. For me, travel is about exploring new places and immersing myself into the culture. Vietnam is probably on the top of my list now, and I hope to get there sooner rather than later.

Can you name a song that reminds you of your childhood?

I think one of the first albums I bought was Whispering Jack – John Farnham. Most memorable songs are probably “You’re the Voice” or “Take the Pressure Down”. Yes – I am an Aussie tragic…LOL

Tell us something that most people don’t know about you?

I’m scared of heights.

What’s a lighting project that’s near and dear to your heart?

I would have to say the Education Building Façade in the Sandstone Precinct – it was one of the first projects I worked after starting here at iGuzzini / Studio 100 JBW. It has been such a great collaboration between the lighting designer FPOV, the various project stakeholders and ourselves.

What’s your go-to lighting product and why?

I can’t go past the Laser Blade family – the original and the best for producing invisible light. It’s still one of our most specified products, and is constantly evolving. We now have; Laser Blade XS – a miniature variant, Blade R – a round version that allows integration of other services, and most recently we have added the Laser Blade Space which creates brilliance in the louvre of the luminaire whilst maintaining very low glare, it is perfect for retail and hospitality projects.
