The elegant workplace of MA Financial Group, perched atop Sydney’s Brookfield Place, boasts style and substance in equal measure. Designed by The Stella Collective, the project delivers a series of thoughtfully considered client and staff areas, fostering an uplifting and collaborative spirit for the company, who specialise in asset management, lending, corporate advisory and equities.

Spread across two-and-a-half floors, the open plan work areas are supported by a series of impressive ancillary spaces. Kitchenette hubs, meeting rooms, quiet rooms and a podcast and AV room for live presentations and media releases allow staff to move between settings to best suit their needs. A commercial kitchen with a full-time chef and barista support the work practices of the firm, while sit-to-stand desks encourage staff mobility and wellness, reinforced by an on-site gym and end-of-trip facilities.

A bespoke, 500-square-metre undercover terrace surrounds the client floor, offering a generous entertainment area for visitors and staff – complete with a bar, barbeque and multiple seating and dining areas set against sweeping views of Sydney’s central business district. These views are shared by a dramatic, double-height boardroom on the upper level, delivery an expansive client space, bathed in light. The levels are united by a striking stairwell, finished with an artificial LED sky light, drawing light into the workplace’s core.

Throughout, the workplace’s tactile, natural palette is elevated by iGuzzini’s Palco 86mm Spotlights on three circuit tracks. The fitting’s interchangeable, Opti Beam reflectors and refractors allow for high lighting efficiency and uniform spread, while ensuring high visual comfort for staff and visitors. With 90-degree internal adjustability and 360-degree rotation, iGuzzini’s Palco 86mm Spotlights offer a flexible light solution across a variety of spaces. The luminaires lend effective general illumination across the workplace, while lending targeted light output to accent MA Financial Group’s coveted art collection.

The workplace’s thoughtful lighting strategy highlights the texture and grain of the interior, bringing the earthen tones of timber, travertine, linen and marble to life. Refined and inviting, MA Financial Group’s new workplace is an exemplary showcase of contemporary work practices, buoyed by collaboration, entertainment and wellness.
